ANDY’S NUTRITION MISSION

Yeah, Yeah, how many times have you heard it:  “I want to go on a diet, I want to lose weight, the Atkins diet, the south beach diet, soup diet” blah blahblahblahblah!  Even though all of these so-called gurus mean well how many people actually succeed with them? Guess what? Even Dr Atkins copped it with a heart problem!  Everyone is looking for a quick fix and not willing to put a bit of effort into his or her health and wellbeing, yet they want to look good, feel great, the whole nine yards, and they wonder why the population is dropping dead like flies to disease and health problems.  Also, some go to the extreme and spend thousands and thousands of pounds on professionals to give them a food plan. Now, in my opinion, nutritionists are a must in the health and fitness industry and they can work wonders with people with diseases, problems, improve their ability etc. and I have seen it happen but the average Joe does not need them to tell them to just pull a finger out.  So I am gonna give you the PFT super diet!

  1. Don’t kid yourself on “oh but it’s a vegetable curry and am only eating a little bit, it’s all I have had today” mate, it’s a @£$&ing curry! Lose it!  You don’t need no professional to tell the basics that foods like curries, microwave junk, crisps, burgers, pizzas, chips, chocolate etc. are not good for you and I don’t care if the newspapers said eating in moderation is good for you blah blahblah!! Get rid of it!!
  1. Eat lots of fruit and veg! They contain lots of antioxidants and micronutrients, which help the body to digest food, work properly and fight free radical damage.  But to you it just means you’ll be healthy and you’ll be scoring in no time!  Yes, and to clarify it means eat 5 different types of fruit and 5 different types of Vegetables a day.  The only reason the government tells you to eat 5 fruit and veg a day is because if they tell you to eat 5 of each you’ll probably think it’s too much.  No you cannot put it in a blender and eat it at once, its too many calories and too much nutritional value for the body to process at once, so most likely you’ll store it as fat or piss it away, so spread it through the day.
  1. Drink lots of fluids and that means tons of the shit!! 3-5 litres a day in fact depending on your size and activity throughout the day, and I don’t give a damn if a glass of red wine a day is good for you or some fruit juice can give you your RDA or a cup of coffee to waken you up.  Just water, people! Have you ever noticed it is usually the fat or weak-minded ones that come up with all the excuses?
  1. It’s pretty well known now that healthy fats are good for you. A healthy fat can aid in weight loss, blood problems, joint problems, gland problems, so just about anything good. I can’t really think of what healthy fats don’t do well, so why the £$%* people don’t eat more omegas is beyond me. People hate eating fish, avocados etc. but there is an easier way: take up to 2000 mg of omega 3’s a day and if you need to you can use omega 6 to balance it off remember it’s a ratio of 3:1 but most likely in my experience the population don’t really need to so I would just stick to the omega’s. 
  1. Eat more fibre.  You can get fibre in various forms and not just in those pieces of cardboard people call biscuits!  Cereals, unrefined carbs, fruit and veg all contain fibre.
  1. Spread your meals throughout the day.  Everyone knows about the benefits of spreading your meals out throughout the day so how come no-one does it?  Having at least 5-7 small meals a day will help your metabolism greatly so start doing it now.
  1. Lose the booze! I don’t care what anyone has to say about it, lose it and if you are on the fags get rid of them now.  Have a little heart, guys, put some effort into it.

I know I sound harsh and I apologise for my rudeness but it is the only way to get it across to people. Buddy, this is not rocket science, I’m pretty sure every single person in this country can clean up their diet using the basic knowledge they have.  Don’t start buying books and starving yourself and doing all sorts of crazy s£$% thinking there is an easier and faster way.
